Brief :

Moon Peak and Indrahar Pass lies in the Dhauladhar Ranges of Western Himalayas. The ranges divide the districts of chamba and kangra. McLeodGanj is an adventure and a cultural hub for the ones seeking it. Moon Peak Expedition takes you to Triund Valley and beyond. Right from the time you enter MCLeodGanj you will be enthralled by the Mighty Moon Peak visible from the town and upon reaching Triund you will be more excited to reach the beauty. The trek is short yet challenging, the steep climb with boulder and rocky trail makes it more difficult but thrilling.

Moon Peak can be attempted through a ridge on the right side of the Illaqua glacier straightway to the top. The other possibility to scale Moon Peak is to climb the Indrahara Pass (4350 metres) and then traverse a ridge on the other side of the pass and approach the peak in most easy way. This route is safe and easier one. The winter ascent to other peaks requires a good technical knowledge and one must have proper climbing gears.

The trial starts from the town itself. Guna Devi to Triund is steep but marked trial. We can find some snack shops on the way. Triund is a beautiful mountain grassland. During night if offers some magical views of the valley.

Beyond Triund the trail becomes narrow and crowd. Snow Line Café and Ilaqa Got lit at about one hour trek from each other. There are several natural caves and can accommodate a small group inside. From Lahesh caves, Indrahar Pass is a steep climb up on a rocky trial. We reach the top at 4,300 meters and enjoy magnificent views of the Kangra Valley. From there we head towards Moon Peak Climb from Chatta itself and come back to the base.

Note : Moon Peak climb is an expedition so we keep our itinerary flexible so as to give our climbers the best chance to reach the summit as per the overall team's strength and capabilities.
